So I had this question with my boyfriend the other day ( I know right, he is the last person to care about fashion), where we were talking about a dress that I wanted from F21, which was a Dolce & Gabanna knock off. He asked me “Isn’t that totally contradicting what fashion is about?” And I argued with him that no one wants to necessarily “Support” the knock-off’s, but not everyone can afford the $2,000 Dolce dress.

But it really made me think, all these stores and designers who knock off designer brands are also making money off something that is not their original design. They can sell 5,000of the $20 dresses, as opposed to the $2,000 dress which isn’t sold as much. You know here on TLD we have our posts “Cash Vs Charge”, which features the super expensive shoe or clothing, compared to the much cheaper and affordable knock-off. But, my question is, is it okay? Should knock-off designers stop copying other designers, or is that just the way it is now a days? Are the brand name designers trend setting which makes it almost impossible for the knock off designers NOT to copy? Answer the poll, I’m interested to see what our readers think!!

I tried on these shoes last time I was at Urban Outfitters and fell in love with them! They fit perfectly, especially since I have such a narrow and tiny foot. They look great with shorts, leggings and any type of dress! The Dolce Vita Granite Wedge retails for $124 at U.O, which was a little out of my budget. I found a similar shoe, although it doesn’t have the wedge and doesn’t go as high, it’s just as cute, and comes in black, gray and brown. And check this, it’s only $18.90 from Go Jane!!!

Everyone ladies favorite shoe designer, Christian Louboutin has launched his own champagne in collaboration with champagne maker Heidsieck. To commemorate, they have released a limited edition “Le Rituel” box set resurrecting a ritual of the 1880s that is emblematic of Europe at its peak: drinking from the shoe of a woman. The accompanying ice bucket and champagne flutes share a similar illusion, with the flute turning upside down into a cocktail glass. It’s like the shoe Gods answered my prayers. A beautiful shoe, with champagne. Ladies, you know it’s on.

In collaboration with director Spike Jonze, Opening Ceremony had created a limited edition collection inspired by his new film adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s treasured book, Where the Wild Things Are. The line features a full range of faux fur pieces for both men and women, subtly evoking Max’s crew of wild friends including Carol, Judith, K.W., Douglas, and Bull. The line even includes Max’s iconic one-piece playsuit - complete with furry-eared hood and raccoon tail. To top it off, jewelry designer Pamela Love has also contributed to the project, creating silver and brass men’s and women’s jewelry inspired by the film’s iconography. Buy them here.

The Where the Wild Things Are collection debuted yesterday (Monday). Exciting, and I love that all the pieces are faux fur too, no one wants to wear animals! Can’t wait to see the movie, hope its not a disappointment.

Jason Mecier makes these one of a kind art out of the most random knick knacks and thingamajigs you could possibly think of. Using everything from beans, to yarn, and my favorite: make-up. He’s made portraits of everyone from Anna Nicole Smith, to Ashanti. Some of these are up for sale, so if you’re feeling any of them, support the artist!

I probably shop in the shampoo/conditioner aisle at the drug store every single time that I go shopping. I don’t know what it is, kind of like flies to light that just brings me to it every freakin’ time! I’ve tried every brand from protene, to treseme, to Dove and everything in between. I’ve also tried spending $30 on conditioner, which all feel the same to me. The only thing I’ve been told my a hair dresser is to stay away from conditioners with alcohol because it’s bad for your hair, especially if it’s colored. Here are some of the top 13 drugstore conditioners brought to you by Total Beauty and their readers.

#12: Garnier Fructis Fortifying Body and Volume Conditioner, $14.99: Why it’s great: Readers say this lives up to its name. “This conditioner leaves my hair softer without bringing it down and making it look thinner. On the contrary, my hair looks thicker,” one reader says. Others agree, adding, “It smells good and makes my super fine hair thicker.” One reader raves, “This is the only conditioner I have bought more than once.”

#11: Suave Professionals Humectant Conditioner, $3.29Why it’s great: “With just one wash my hair looked and felt better,” readers say. This is something I haven’t seen too often. This uniquely designed shoe has a distinctive cuff which covers the shoe from almost the heel to the top of the leg. It kind of reminds me of leg warmers. Has anyone tried these on, or a similar pair? I’m curious to how they would look on, and what they would look good with. Buy here.
