brest-missoni

Hi,

I recently learned about your blog, and now I can’t go a day without checking it!
I’m glad you guys came up with the advice columne because I need some fashion help.
I got this dress (pictures attached, and by the way, is nicer in person) and I’m having trouble finding shoes to match it with. I was thinking of tall boots (not over the knee, though) but I haven’t found anything online, maybe you guys can have better luck? or maybe you can think of other options other than boots?

Thanks! All the best,

Ana

Great dress Ana. I’ve been trying to find something like this for a while. The one you’ve chosen is simple but different because of the pattern. I would have been boring and preferred black. Inspiration to look for something more fun!

I’ve chosen some shoes for you that are behind the cut. Hope you like em!

You can really dress this up however you want. I generally prefer to wear flats, something comfortable. So I tried to give you something that touches on everything so that you can choose a look that best suits you.

toms

For more casual I’d go for these Tom’s in olive. Instead of the standard brown shoes I’d go for this color instead to give yourself your shoes some color to play with. The belt has the dark green in it, so they’d be perfect. They’re not too bright to take away from the dress itself and an extra plus is they are super comfortable. Of course, I’d still wear the Tom’s in brown to match this dress.

Available at 80spurple.com. Don’t forget you can get 20% off right now until Friday using the “lipstickdiaries” code.

sandals

Still trying to play along with the colors within the dress, I think these sandals by Andrea Joen would go great. I know it’s going into winter right now and I’m not sure where you live but here in California it still goes. I wouldn’t imagine you’d wear this dress on a terribly cold night anyways.

boots

BOOTS! I’d like a flat boot with this dress. Of course, Urban Outfitters as it in every color I’d want to contemplate about. Personally I’d choose the gray or brown. Oh yes, they are gray. I think it’d give a little bit of a surprise and on top of that they sort of have a little more of an olive hue.

tallboot

My last pick is this Hanna boot by rsvp. I know it’s a little tall, but I really love the wedge AND the slouch. I think this boot in particular would make the whole outfit most comfortable and because it is getting a LITTLE chilly you can go out knowing your feet and legs will stay warm.

The Hanna boot and Tom’s shoes would be my ultimate choices to go with this dress. A pair of casual shoes would be great for every day wear and the boots would be perfect for a night out.

I did look for a heel/wedge that I thought would look great with this dress but to be honest with you I didn’t find any that I was 100% for. Do any of you have suggestions? I’d love to find a heel/wedge similar to the Jeffrey Campbell in a dark brown leather or suede. I could have sworn there was one available but I can’t find it!

Ana, hope this helps in your quest for a shoe!
