First off, it is an absolute honor to have Sophy Robson share a few words about fashion and nails on TLD. Before her nail art success Robson started out as a DJ in London during the early 90’s then later decided to do her own manicures based on her obsession with artists of Hip-Hop and R&B.
More after the cut…
Sophy Robson has worked with designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Tom Ford, Jeremy Scott, Alexander Mcqueen, Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton, Gareth Pugh, and many more. Some of her clients include Kate Moss, Natalie Portman, Kiera Knightley, Amy Winehouse, Gwen Stefani, Alexa Chung, Claudia Schiffer, and Erykah Badu in a Tom Ford campaign. My personal favorite of Robson’s work is most definitely the bomb ass metallic minx for Vogue Gioiello.
After studying beauty therapy in college and working within nail bar chains, Robson “turned pro” in 1999 and gave birth to her daughter. Still about her business Robson started to contact agencies then worked with photographers on shoots until she could start her own practice at the Berkeley Hotel in London in 2005.
Today Sophy Robson is hooking up editorials and celebrities with manicures and style. She won British Nail Professional of the Year and is now represented by Streeters— a creative management that looks after some of the best hair and makeup artists in the world.
