I can’t stop thinking about the glasses at Prada Fall 2010. First of all, they are two-toned, cat-eye spectacles. My fashion boner is already rising. Then… the positioning of the top color creates the illusion of eyebrows painted on the glasses. WHAT IS THIS WIZARDRY MIUCCIA!!!! I can’t deal with this. Obviously not a second passed when I started thinking about the eyebrows being chola-style instead. Extreme McDonald’s arched Sharpie eyebrows. I mean if you are going to do it you gotta go all the way right? GO BIG OR GO HOME I SAY.
I want the red and black ones SO BAD. Thoughts? Would you wear these yourself? Am I alone in the world?
(note: A picture of yours truly comes up if you google “chola eyebrows” - just a warning)

Jeremy Scott showcased his “Church of Style” collection for Fall 2010 on Ash Wednesday, sending his models down the runway in velvet minis adorned with tiny crosses and corsets emblazoned with stained glass window patterns. I don’t know what music he chose for his show, but I can only hope he was playing Madonna’s, “Like a Prayer.” Other favorite pieces included leather motorcycle jackets and knee-high boots decorated with multi-colored gems and gold plates, bullseye prints and double-ended slip dresses (maybe considered the fashion version of a palindrome?) with one end resting on a custom-made Jeremy Scott hanger. Another standout piece for me was the leather dress with the gigantic BOW-ner on the derrière. TOO CUTE. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I will never ever tire of a big ol’ BOW-ner.

I love how creative Rachel Antonoff presents her collections. Last season she did a clever Teen Witch “Top That” tribute and for her new fall collection, the theme was a Clue-style murder mystery. Since she’s so fond of the 80’s she might even be tipping her hat to a particularly memorable murder mystery-themed Saved by the Bell episode with this one!!! You never know…

There was a distinct vintage feel to the whole collection: lovely 40’s-inspired button down blouses with shorts, elegant cocktail dresses, wide-legged pants with long sleeved blouses, all paired with adorable saddle shoes. The pieces are perfectly tailored to suit any girl detective. I give it the Agent Lover stamp of approval! Nylon TV also has a cute video on the presentation with Peaches Geldof trying to solve the mystery herself! More after the cut!

I heard about Ebony Bones last year and was initially blown away by her outlandish fashion sense. Just like Jem, she is truly outrageous! With a sound you can compare to M.I.A. but self-described as “jungle punk” and a look you might say is Rainbow Brite meets Peggy Noland, how can you not get into this fierce little lady from London? She started out acting on soap operas but now brings the drama to the stage with her fluorescent clothing, circus makeup and energetic performances. Aside from representing designers like Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Miss Jones makes her own crazy clothing. I love a true weirdo who looks like she’s having fun and this girl definitely plays that part!
She’s currently on tour and has two shows in LA next week at La Cita on Feb 1st and The Echo on Feb 5, so catch her and her neon army if you can! See more of her wild style after the cut.

Polkadots, nautical style, leopard print and bows are signature pieces to my wardrobe and will never get old to me so I am immediately drawn to the new retro-inspired collection for Forever 21’s Twist line. I am kind of digging on this bobby socks with dresses look they got going on. I saw a lot of girls sporting socks with heels when I went to Tokyo last summer, but then again the Japanese make everything look good!

Are those patent wingtips!? I’ve been on a 90’s music kick lately and those shoes make me want to bust out some of my old Dance Hall Crashers cds! Get me out of this rainy day wardrobe and into some spring pinup looks already! Check out more pieces after the cut!
