Elephants indefinitely have to be my favorite animal to walk this planet, no kidding! There is something about their emotional behavior and just overall adorable-ness that gets me every time. I think I own about 10 articles of clothing and 3 pieces of jewelry plus a pair of shoes with elephants on them. Does that prove my point? Anyway, I’ve been seeing elephants on almost everything from jewelry to laptop cases. Here are a couple faves.
One of my favorite artistic shoe deisgner INSA, was one of six artists asked by Tate Britain gallery to create a response to a recent exhibit by artist Chris Ofili. The results? A 10-inch heel made out of real elephant dung. Thats right, elephant poopies. Now beat that! .

I saw this video over at The Hundreds and had to share. Dogs make my little heart warm. I’m sure some of you know I have two dachshunds, they are my life. It’s all the little things they do that make me smile, even when they are bad and run out the front door to do laps around the top floor of my complex.
I had wanted a dog for SO many years but could never have one because when I lived with my parents the answer was always, “NO.” I had found a silver dapple dachshund and fell in love with him but couldn’t have him. I remember crying that night because I knew my parents would be pissed and my boyfriends roommate was completely against it. Hey I really wanted a little booger in my life. Fast forward a few months, I found a gold dapple and couldn’t stop thinking about her. Perfect, I was moving out soon so I made an impulse decision and brought her home with me. My dad fell in love with her and gets giddy like a little school girl whenever I bring the dogs over. Really, I wish you could see how silly he gets.
Getting a dog was a lot tougher than I thought it would be but its nothing other than great - my dogs are my children. I worry about them whenever I’m not with them and always want to spoil them. Coming home to them is one of the best things, always happy to see me. The way they snuggle, it’s the best!

Call me crazy, but I am in love with these sandals. Maybe it’s my obsession with plastic jelly shoes, or my obsession with animals (yes, I love mice too). These shoes are definitely the cat’s meow! How can you go wrong with a plastic little mouse/rat hanging on the side of your sandal? Ok, you can probably go wrong, but I say yay! I want! Levi’s and CRAM JAM CHEST teamed in honor of the recently opened Levi’s Store Shibuya in Tokyo. This is one of my favorite collabs in a while, for obvious reasons. I love animals! “Sit Puppy” was created with vintage Levi 501 models based on the most notable years: 1933, 1944, 1947, 1954, and 1966. Only one style for each 501 year will be available later this year.
I’ll take 5! The reality of it is that if one of these were even to get into my home both my dogs would tear the hell out of it.

A couple years ago, while sitting in a hair salon, I was reading an article about brands selling dog, cat and raccoon “faux fur” clothing. I was disgusted, not only in the fact that they were killing these animals for fashion, but that they were fooling consumers into thinking they were buying faux, but were actually buying real animal fur. So, once again, people are still doing it, but this time it needs to end.
About a year ago, the Humane Society took Lord & Taylor, Dillard’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Saks, and the parent company of Andrew Marc to court for mislabeling “faux faur” clothing items. Finally, Lord & Taylor has settled with the Humane Society out of court. The department store agreed not to sell products containing the fur of raccoon dogs, the most commonly misrepresented kind of fur, according to the Humane Society. Lord & Taylor, along with the other defendants, allegedly sold furry garments labeled as raccoon, coyote, rabbit, or faux that were actually made with raccoon-dog fur. Lord & Taylor promises to be more careful about fur labeling moving forward. << Maybe you should just NOT use fur in your clothing. How could you even kill these cute little creatures. I just want to cuddle with one of them! I am completely grossed out and disgusted by these people. I’m glad someone is doing something about besides the crazy ‘ol PETA peeps. I thought I’d switch up from the usual, and write about something that truly touches my heart. Mostly because I love all animals and especially elephants. Shoe designer Christian Louboutin designed a world exclusive shoe in collaboration with Footcandy to raise money for Asian elephants. This zipper accented strappy sandal will surely turn heads this season. The Rodita sandal is available in this hot pink color that he chose for Footcandy exclusively.
The sandal itself is made of fabric with zipper accents throughout and is lined in pink leather. It has a pink leather buckle closure on the ankle strap and a covered pink leather 4 3/4 inch heel. The 1 inch platform is covered in fabric with a zipper across the plattform, and of coarse his signature red sole. All proceeds will go to the GTAEF charity (Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation), which help rescue elephants from the streets of Thailand! I saw this squirrel video over at The Hundreds - Video Daze and HAD to share with you guys. It is one of the reasons why I love animals so much - because they are honestly like little humans in furry bodies.
I am a HUGE animal lover. I obsess over animals. I have a dog, two cats, and three pet rats. If I could live on a huge farm I would most likely have almost every animal I would be allowed. Animals make me smile ALL the time. I have an a daily and monthly calendar at work. I save just about any animal picture I come across on the internet. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Yes, I will be a crazy woman when I’m older.
