One of my favorite artistic shoe deisgner INSA, was one of six artists asked by Tate Britain gallery to create a response to a recent exhibit by artist Chris Ofili. The results? A 10-inch heel made out of real elephant dung. Thats right, elephant poopies. Now beat that! .
“INSA retraced the footsteps Chris Ofili made over 15 years ago and sourced dung from the same family of elephants that produced the dung used in Chris’s infamous paintings of the nineties.”

Every shoe United Nude has to offer is really a work of art. The amount of work and creativity gone into each shoe amazes me. The Dutch shoe company (shoe arhtiect’s) have launched their Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. I am loving every single one!

I seriously think that you can pretty much put anything on a shoe that’s semi-interesting, and it can be a hit. For example, through on some kind of weird futuristic boat on the bottom, and someone will wear it. Designer Tea Petrovic, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina.
“I have created a shoe collection, as my graduating project, that is centered around the idea that each shoe is an sculptural-architectural structured form. Each model is an experiment with the high heel, because they determine the whole form of a shoe. The heels are columns, constructive elements on which the whole creative process is based with an aim to create a new concept of high heels.” (via)

Back when I once had a Myspace days Kesh was one of those intriguing adds because of her style and work ethic. I don’t know her, never met her, nor do I own any of her designs BUT I like my idea of who I think she is and what she does. Where was I going with this?? Oh yeah… her photos! Now that Kesh is on tumblr I have a chance to catch up on some her photography and I’d just like to share some of the work she has done because it’s freakin’ beautiful.

I had an interesting conversation with a friend the other day. He of course has no tattoo’s, and I do. We talked about tattoo’s being so trendy and common in our generation, that seeing someone with no tattoo’s is becoming rare. Almost like the same feeling we used to get when we found out someone had a tattoo. The tattoos were a a counter-culture, now the counter-culture is having no tattoo’s.
I think there are a couple people in our lives have an embarrassing tattoo, or one that they might regret (ex’s names, something trendy). Of course, laser treatment isn’t really an affordable or cosmetically pretty action to take, so a lot of us just live with it. I myself have an embarrassing tattoo…well not really embarrassing but more of a trendy, meaningless tattoo placed right smack in the middle of my lower back. Yup, the tramp stamp. It was actually a cover up for a tattoo which I was so desperate to get at the age of 16. It turned out to be an awful, crooked bootleg tat. So what did I do? I covered it up with an even bigger, stupider tattoo. WOMP.
I don’t need to go on about the tattoo culture, because I think it’s f*cking awesome. I love awesome tattoo’s, I love the stories, I love the funny ones and the artsy ones. I love tattoo’s that people are proud of. But just because I made a stupid decision, it doesn’t mean I’ll make it again. Sure I got another one that I love, and sure I’ve thought about getting more- but I just can’t budge to do it! Anyway, my point your asking..
Has our generation made something trendy into an average accessory like the earrings we put on?
I would love to hear any tattoo stories, your POV on the tattoo culture. Any regrets?
Here is an ode to terrible tattoos.

on another note: how amazing is this?

The colors, and the photography are too beautiful in this Spring 2010 ad Campaign for Ferragamo. Can I please get that silver clutch? Thanks!
