Yes, Amber Rose is still here. Some may say she has no talent, and she is pretty much just known as Kanye’s eye candy- but you can’t deny that she does look amazing on camera. I was kind of annoyed by this answer on Kanye’s relevance in her life “Honestly, Kanye saved my life, and I don’t even think about what I would have been; I just think about what I’m gonna be”. What happened to making it on your own? For those of us who aren’t privleged enough to be a rappers girlfriend… we know the struggle.
What’s your opinion on the girl? Is she played out? Are you tired of her? Or do you want to see her around more often?
On her personal style: “I was always a ‘weirdo’ – well that’s what people would call me [...] I had a mohawk when mohawks weren’t cool… I would get different pieces from the thrift store and put them together and make it dope. People would ask me where I got my outfits from, and I would always say the thrift store. I never denied it. I did my own thing ever since I was a little girl[...] I still do my own thing! Whatever makes me feel good. If I want to wear clown pants and a church hat then that’s what I’m gonna wear. [Laughs] Well, maybe not that extreme, but I could definitely pull it off.” Check out the rest of the interview at YRB Magazine.
C.C. Baker, who treats hair as an experiment and keeps her nails did, became a woman I found myself admiring as an artist for about a year now. There’s just something about a girl with attitude who takes no bullsh*t and creates colourful cutesy yet sexified characters— that for sure gets my heart jumping and eyes glowing. The pieces I’m most familiar and fond with comes from her “La La’s in the City” collection which remind me of a slight mixture of Fafi x Japanese anime works. Miss Baker has got all kinds of tit-a-licious, thick thighed, pouty lip, high heel wearing ladies plastered on wooden boards and faux Louis bags and I’d love nothing more than for you to check it out. See what C.C. Baker had to say with TLD after the cut.
TLD got it in with Pittsburgh native MC Farooq Al- Said aka Ayatollah Jaxx before the release of his debut album Hello, Hip-Hop (out March 9th) AND in time for Valentine’s!! Instead of going for the basics I took a different approach and went straight for his holiday plans. Foreplay, role play, serenade’s and latex allergies— it’s all what he had to say after the jump…
Box of chocolates or box of condoms
That’s a toughy, I’d say, a box of chocolates. I gotta hell of a sweet tooth and I have a horrible addiction to chocolate. On top of that well … I’m allergic to latex … yeh … crazy init?……
This sneak peak to Lindsay Lohan’s interview with the Insider has made it’s rounds around the internet world. People are making their rude comments, putting their two cents to Lindsay’s “hoarding” problem. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how the Insider’s editors really know how to make a not-so-dramatic interview seem like an episode out of Intervention. *Said in announcers voice*” AND NOW, LINDSAY LOHAN, THE HOARDER, SHE’S MISERABLE AND HATE’S HER LIFE” …whoa whoa slow down…. So, she has a bedroom full of shoes and clothes, yeah they seem a little unorganized, but I don’t think she’s a hoarder. Let’s just say that’s just a way to get people to watch the stupid little interview and start talking sh*t. My opinion? The girl is messy, unorganized, and probably needs a therapist. To call her a hoarder? Get outta here Insider!
Wow! I am intrigued by all these photos! I’m not a knitter, but knitting is quite the art… All of these images are from Compulsive Knitting, the most recent show by photographer Daniela Edburg, a series of photos about the craft of knitting. Read the interview with Daniela and s+ more photos from her series here.
First off, it is an absolute honor to have Sophy Robson share a few words about fashion and nails on TLD. Before her nail art success Robson started out as a DJ in London during the early 90’s then later decided to do her own manicures based on her obsession with artists of Hip-Hop and R&B.
EZO Magazine goes behind the scenes for the cover shoot with Fefe Dobson! EZO Magazine announces the release of their third issue featuring, FEFE DOBSON! As EZO Magazines first female cover, Fefe Dobson gives a candid interview on her re-emergence as a stronger artist with a story to tell. With a new label home and a more mature sound Fefe is staking her claim on rock royalty — under her terms! I spy a Dime Piece tank!
It’s always nice to know creative people who have a natural desire to make good sh*t and I got to thinking maybe a tld interview would be a nice way to share my experience with some of the artists I’ve come to know. With that being said, I’d like to introduce Alex Canzoneri aka Fundamental. He’s a Toronto native, producer, and member of the hip-hop duo Good Company along with Pittsburgh MC Ayatollah Jaxx. Having worked with upcoming artists such as Carlitta Durand, G5 Clive, and Arafat Yates, Fundamental continues to mix the elements of jazzy hip-hop with today’s energetic beats: electro/house sound depending on the track. You’ll be hearing more from this kid and tld has got your jump start covered just after the cut…
