Women clearly have many many advantages over men, make-up being one. Make-up is also a curse in itself as well. It’s an advantage in the sense that we can cover anything up, make something ‘ugly’ (I do hate that word) “pretty”, and so on. Pimples, wrinkles, lines, scars? No problem, cover it up! We can make droopy small eyes appear larger, and lips appear fuller. We can draw in beautiful eyebrows, and so on. It’s a curse in the fact that some of us may feel like we “have” to wear make-up to look pretty. Would you go out to the club all natural? Some of us have the gift of natural beauty to, but chances are most of us don’t. Whether it’s minimal make-up like a couple coats of mascara or some simple lip gloss, make-up is make-up. I’m so torn with make-up, and although I do feel prettier wearing make-up, I’m getting tired of the daily routine, the money I spend, the necessity to wear it. Make-up is kind of like a period, plan to wear it for the next 20 years! Then I’m sure after a certain time you’ll say “f*ck it, what’s the point”.
I’m curious, how often do you wear make-up? And how long (or how much) make-up do you wear? Are you a minimal wearer, do you do the whole shi-bang? (eyes, face, lips, etc).

Are you a falsie wearer? To you go as far as wearing crazy Gaga looking lashes? Well if you are, these Shu Uemura neo reflector lashes are perfect for you . These $65 disco ball lashes are really no joke! They are from the Tokyo Lash Bar 2010 collection, and will definitely blind some people along the way.

I am a mascara FREAK, really am. I know I say this anytime I post news about mascara’s, but it’s so true. I’ve gone to the drug store on a hunt for an amazing mascara ( I have super short thin eyelashes), and still no REAL success. So I am super anticipating for this mascara to come out (available July 2010).
Instant false glam in a tube

Be sure you have a picture of you looking straight on. I tried doing it with various pictures, gave up, and just took a photo on my webcam. You have to put the points of reference by clicking dots on your face, but there are instructions. It’s fairly easy and fun choosing different colors - but I don’t wear yellow eyeshadow or shimmery pink gloss, so I kept it fairly simple. The foundation is what I think makes the hugest difference here but I normally use a sheer powder. Put on some darker eyeshadow, built up the lashes, and the red lipstick. This really helped me see what I look like with red lipstick without having to try it out at a makeup counter. What do you think?

Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet Eisner will be creating a limited collection for MAC Cosmetics. The color cosmetics collection will hit all MAC stores on July 8th. The Alice in Wonderland themes that we have seen in fashion and jewelry lately continue as WWDsays the concept behind the collection is “if Alice in Wonderland fell down the rabbit hole and met a makeup artist instead of the Mad Hatter.”
I’ve heard AMAZING these about Dior’s mascara collection, but have yet to try it for myself. Anybody out there use these mascara’s? Are they really worth the $30?

So I let all our readers know back in December that Tarina Taratino was working on a beauty collection exclusively for Sephora… well here it is, and it’s available for purchase! I personally can’t wait to head over to Sephora and grab some of these goodies! I love Tarina’s style and accessories, so I wouldn’t mind accenting myself with some of her beauty products. This collection totally reminds me of stuff I used to have in my costume collection. You can see the entire collection here, and start shoppin!
