This Fall 2010 marks the growth of Hellz, with a more experimental venture entitled ‘The Rest Is Her Story,’ a collection that conveys a classic story of vengeance while simultaneously exuding sensuality and ferocity. Drawing inspiration from revenge and exploitation films such as ‘Lady Snowblood’ and ‘Thriller,’ the collection makes use of a dark color palette to embody the mood & feel of both films. Black, white, and texture are prevalent throughout the collection and accentuate the unorthodox but innovative silhouettes with leather, trims and details. Pieces like the ‘Alice,’ a fitted blazer with exaggerated shoulders and back ruffle detail inspired by anti-heroines who display great strength and confidence while maintaining beauty and grace. Another interesting piece from the collection is the ‘Wonderland, ‘ a fine cotton jersey printed tunic with metal hooks and eye trims, that not only demonstrates the boldness and convention of film vixens, but the brand as a whole as well. A subtle color story, intelligent and experimental silhouettes and contrasting metal details culminate in an exhibition of daring feminine sexuality and confidence, truly proving that ‘The Rest Is Her Story.’ (Via)
I don’t know what it is about Terry Richardson’s simple photography, but he sure does have a way of shooting every beautiful celebrity! Check out his blog for more.
Check out this stud male model for the newest issue of Vogue Hommes Japan.
Look closer. It’s really the Lady herself. Lady Gaga dressed up in drag and honestly, I’m not surprised by this one bit. There isn’t really anything that she does that isn’t bananas. It shall be interesting to see what she does next though.
Ms. Tyra Banks posted her tribute to the late, great Alexander McQueen on her blog earlier this week. Of course, the photos came out amazing but I’d like to see her in the lobster heels and fish dresses. She teamed up with Andre Leon Tally and the cutest little girl ever. She steals the photos for me. Too cute. Tyra explained her inspiration for the shoot.
It’s old royal fashion meets new royal looks designed by fashion royalty. McQueen had a flare for the dramatic and a love for fantasy. I would like to think that he would have loved these photos.
I stumbled across Va$htie on accident looking at Rachel Roy’s S/S 2010 look book. But now learning a bit more about Va$htie’s background, including directing, fashion, and photography, I kind of wish I found her on purpose. I’m actually blown away! Along with her beauty she’s got quite the resume— being signed as a director with Box Fresh Pictures and requested as Director of Creative Services for Island Def Jam. You’ve probably recognized Va$htie’s directing in music videos like Kanye ft. Lupe Fiasco and Pharrell’s “Us Placers”, Solange’s “T.O.N.Y.” and Justin Bieber’s “One Time”.
I posted a few of my favorite photos by Va$htie, and a video that pretty much introduces who Va$htie is, with more information on the projects she has taken on as an artist– like hosting 90’s themed parties and creating her own fashion line VIOLETTE.
I’m inspired I tell you. Inspired! Forgive me for being so late.
Well heyyyy Miss California! The Miss USA organization posted racy photos of the latest contestants of their annual beauty pageant on their website. I forgot, aren’t these women supposed to be some sort of role models to little girls? Aren’t they supposed to be all about wanting world peace? Yah, Miss Cali Michele Johnson looks like she really cares about global warming. (Sorry, snap judgement. She might really be intelligent.) I gotta hand it to them though, all of the Misses look amazing and I would more likely tune into the broadcast if I were a dude.
Maybe Miss Wyoming Claire Schreiner is all sexed up because of all the controversy beauty queen have gotten in the recent years. Rehab, solo sex tapes, and homophobia. Okay, yeah, these photos don’t really surprise me at all.
Miss Jersey looks like a straight up Victoria’s Secret model. Get it girl. See the rest here.
Hot DAYUM! I am not a Lindsay Lo fan at all. I’m rather over hearing about her drug/alcohol/lesbian/DUI daily dramas. Was entertaining for a bit but now its just sad. But these photos shot by Tyler Shields make me wonder if she’s just telling a sick joke and really does understand what the hell is going on. Other sites have said this is too much, but I cannot NOT love theses photos. There’s something super creepy about them considering who it is. Maybe I’m just in a creepy, inappropriate mood today. Shields tells is better.
Everyone has an idea of Lindsay Lohan and last night I had the pleasure of working with her she is a huge art lover and simply wanted to create some and that is exactly what we did!
I think what really makes these photos art rather than smut is the photographer. Tyler Shields is beyond revolutionary. Check more of his work here.
Kim Kim Kardashian, Joy Bryant, and photographer Amanda de Cadenet (photographer) stripped down for the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar….minus any re-touching or photoshop! It seems that everyone is following this trend. Finally. Beautiful.
I feel proud if young girls look up to me and say, ‘I’m curvy, and I’m proud of it now,’”
“I was wearing a C cup by the time I was 11. I would go to bed and pray, ‘Please, Lord, don’t let my boobs grow any bigger,’” “I hated what was happening.” “I’m Armenian. It’s normal,” “My butt is probably not as big as you might think, because I have small legs and a small waist, which makes it appear bigger.” Kardshian says.
“The message is embrace your curves and who you are…” —Kim Kardashian
One of my favorite old school brands has collaborated with Carrie Munden’s “Cassette Playa” for the Spring 2010 collection. The looks were shot by none other then Estevan Oriol. Very 80’s, love the jean jacket!
No matter what all the tabloids, and everyone else says, Lindsay Lohan is doing it right! Here she is, looking dolled up (and those shoes!) for Purple Magazine, shot by the famous Terry Richardson. PS, a couple of these are not NSFW.
