Louis Vuitton Raindrop Besace bag

louisvuittontrashbagtld2

This $3,000 is no joke, it’s really a Louis Vuitton bag. Louis Vuitton’s Raindrop Besace bag/purse is a waterproof draw-string bag that to us looks a lot like a designer trash bag with its detachable leather shoulder strap and goldtone hardware. It comes in gray and brown with the LV logo printed on the front. Really though, were baffled. Is this real? Thoughts?

Chanel Fall 2010

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_-C_ejcKBFWo/SGsiCyj425I/AAAAAAAADIA/mw6yzjQu0tc/s400/Snowman.jpg

This collection looks like a mix between the abominable snowman, eskimo community and some shiz I can’t even go on to describe. Not all the pieces are as bad as the big fury costumes, and some of the furry go go boots are actually cute. I think the fur shorts put me over edge. Me being a total anti-fur activist, this kind of disgusts me. But when reading this on Style, I was slightly relieved:

“The Karl conceit of the season, no surprises, was an in-every-way extravagant play on Coco in cold weather. Using more fur than he’d even flung at Fendi—the twist being that here the fur was fake—Lagerfeld steered this collection nearer to couture than ready-to-wear than ever. Fur was woven into brown tweeds; formed deep pelmets on the lower half of leather jackets; became almost igloo-shaped capes, bonnets, even—for goodness’ sake—furry trousers. Meanwhile, the suit and coat combinations also had a level of lavish elaboration usually reserved for haute eveningwear. Fur-fringed embroideries and ice jewelry conspired to create intensely worked ruffled and beaded silhouettes that glinted with rock-crystal neckpieces and fistfuls of rings. Somewhere in there, a flash of translucent silver seemed to be a clutch in which the quilting of the CC classic bag had been frozen into the likeness of a refrigerator ice cube tray.”

Insa Elephant Dung Shoes

insa-elephant-dung-heels-TLD-1

One of my favorite artistic shoe deisgner INSA, was one of six artists asked by Tate Britain gallery to create a response to a recent exhibit by artist Chris Ofili.  The results? A 10-inch heel made out of real elephant dung. Thats right, elephant poopies. Now beat that! .

“INSA retraced the footsteps Chris Ofili made over 15 years ago and sourced dung from the same family of elephants that produced the dung used in Chris’s infamous paintings of the nineties.”

Karl Lagerfeld x Döttling: most expensive safe in the world

karl-dottling-safe

Is there anything Karl can’t/won’t do? If there is, I want to know..because making a custom built safe is quite the unusual! Created with German luxury safe maker Döttling, 30 limited edition ‘Narcissus’ safe has been called the world’s most expensive safe with a price tag of 250,000 euros. It stands at just under 6 feet tall with a steel body, but when activated two doors open to reveal interior cabinets to hold your luxury watches and jewelry. Whoa, so who the hell is going to be the first in line for this?

alligator-shirt-2

Trust me, I asked myself the same thing: who in the “h” would buy such a horrible thing? And even more important, WHAT is that? Whoever decided to throw on hundreds of Lacoste alligator’s should really question life. This men’s Lacoste shirt goes for $7,500… but wait, it get’s better. The women’s version goes for a whopping $1,900.  Whether it’s art, creatvity, or just fun- it’s pretty outrageous. But hey, someone out there will buy it!

Introducing… Vajazzling

vajazzling-TLD

So Jennifer Love Hewitt started this craze with “vajazzling”, and now every company and spa is trying to get on it! So now you can dye your pubes pink, and vajazzle them all at the same time. For what purpose? I have no idea..but their are people who will get on it. What do you think?

Bryce Gruber of The Luxury Spot, www.theluxuryspot.com a widely read online lifestyle site, became the first member of the media to experience the latest in personal grooming, Vajazzling.

She was sent by Spa Week Daily, www.spaweekdaily.com, to cover one of the treatments that’ll be offered during Spa Week Spring 2010, April 12-18, when spa treatments are just $50 a piece at participating spas across the country. Gruber headed to Completely Bare on Bond Street (www.completelybare.com) to try their newest service, Vajazzling, which is the bedazzling of the area which gets waxed when getting a bikini wax (or more) by adding crystals and beads to the nether regions.

A play on bedazzling and a part of the female body, Vajazzling is the adornment of crystals and beads to the bikini area after waxing According to the Completely Bare website, “Accessorizing your privates is the hottest rage. From crystal flowers to customized favorites, you too can now decorate your own jewels. Whether it’s a special occasion or you just want to sparkle everywhere, you can choose from an assortment of real Swarovski crystal designs so you can shimmer and shine.”

Gruber stated: “I’m here to cover up my C section scar. I’m here to give the women of America options.”

Fug or Fab: Lady Gaga

lady-gaga-amfar

Lady Gaga seems to be featured on every page on TLD, yes- we know. She is like a car crash, you dont want to look (or write) but you just can’t help it!! She rocked this crazy outfit to amfAR’s New York City Gala to Kick Off Fall 2010 Fashion Week. Still trying to figure out what the hell was glued on her face, but - um, it’s interesting. On another note, Kelly Cutrone from PR firms Peoples Revolution said this about the singer:

“”I don’t really care for her. I just don’t really see anything very original about what she’s doing. I don’t like her style. I find it to be very violent. She looks like Dolly Parton after a murder.”

Do you agree? Disagree? Do you think Gaga craves the attention, or is she really “out of this world” in the fashion world (in a good way)?
